What is the secret of the constant taste of Aroma Red?
Douwe Egberts Aroma red quick filter still tastes almost exactly the same as a hundred years ago. Generations have grown up with it. The slogan ‘You are at home where you drink Douwe Egberts’ fits seamlessly with the (re)experience of that familiar home feeling. The secret of the constant taste lies in the blend of different types of beans, the roasting time and the color of the roasted beans.

then to now Did you know that packaging plays an important role in the experience? Until the twenties of the last century, coffee was still simply weighed and sold separately in a bag under the name Aroma I, II, III and IV. In February 1920 Aroma II was given the name Coffee Red, packed in a red bag – the forerunner of the current packaging Aroma Red. At the same time as the introduction of vacuum-packed coffee in 1973, Anno 1753 was added to the band, to emphasize that nothing had changed to the familiar taste. In 1983 a last name change followed and it became Aroma Red.
