The effect of activated carbon
Activated carbon has an internal surface area of 500 to 1500 m2/g. This means that the surface area of 3 grams of activated carbon is comparable to that of a football field. This allows activated charcoal to bind causes of diarrhea over a large intestinal surface and then drain them from the body through the stool. As a result, the diarrhea disappears and the stool returns to normal.
Instructions
With diarrhea, take 6-9 tablets at a time up to a maximum of 27 tablets per day. The tablets should be taken with water preferably evenly throughout the day. Read the package leaflet before use.
A Norit tablet contains 125 mg activated charcoal as an active ingredient and is available in packs of 50 and 180 pieces.
Do not use Norit with
- Severe blockage of the gastrointestinal tract or suspicion thereof.
- Sudden abdominal pain.
- With ulceration accompanied inflammation of the large intestine.
