Cheese spread, a real Dutch product
Just like regular cheese, cheese spread is a typical Dutch product. Around 1900, cheese merchant Jan Eyssen was mainly concerned with exporting cheese to tropical countries. Cheese spread is a form of processed cheese. It is made from regular cheese. This is finely ground and water and melting salt are added to these small pieces. This whole is heated.
